I spent most of last Saturday on Holkham beach on the North Norfolk coast. Having had a pick-nic with a glass ,or two of chilled white wine, I lay on my back observing the clear blue sky. Not a cloud could be seen. The sun shone, the wind gently moved the dune grass, and the only noise to be heard was children playing. Quite idyllic you must agree. The tide was out, almost to the point of being non existent, which meant that I and my lady could walk on the flat sand. This we did when the sky clouded over,(that is the one good thing about English weather, it can change from one moment to the next) and walked to Wells and back. Pointless you might say, but every so often it is good to stop thinking, make your body do exercise that it is not used to, and simply stop, do something out of the ordinary, for the princely sum of £3.50, for parking. In this so called time of financial trouble, it is realy good to know that for a small fee and a quarter tank of petrol, you can still enjoy a day out and for a brief moment, forget your troubles.
